THEN & NOW

The team is traveling well. We have a great support team this year, so things are looking good. I will post some results and photos after the World Cups which are in June.

Here's a photo of our K4 training at the course where we're based in Munich. We matched it back to a bit of paddling history. In 1972 when the Olympics were in Munich, 5 time Kayak Olympian Dennis Green stroked his K4 down the same course. Dennis introduced our fourth seat paddler Jake Clear to flatwater paddling. So it's pretty cool to see the old and the new K4s in the same spot, 40 years apart.

COMPETITION

Just an update on racing for the next few months. The Australian team heads over to Europe on the 5th May, where we will be training in Munich, Germany in the lead up to our first world cup in Duisburg, Germany on the 26th May.

I’m looking forward to racing the Germans in there own backyard, it's going to be some tough racing and will give us an indication of where we are in our preparation towards London. We then fly to Moscow, Russia to race on 2nd June. We are looking forward to this trip and also competing against the Russian’s who placed 3rd last year and are a very strong consistent K4 crew. After the World cups we head back to Hungary were we begin our summer slaughter and final preparations before the Olympics.

ALL THE GEAR...

BodyScience have outdone themselves. The Wolfpack got our bundle of BSc training and racing lycra gear today. It's awesome. Thanks to Greg and the team from BSc for providing such great gear to wear.

USANA

I'm now an ambassador for USANA Nutritionals. I've been using USANA vitamin supplements for the last year and have definitely noticed an improvement in my general health and wellbeing. Your health isn't something you can take for granted as an athlete. Especially as I get older, I'm becoming more in tune with the role recovery and nutrition plays in ongoing performance. These products work for me. I'd recommend to any athlete, working out what helps you stay healthy and injury-free, because the more you can train and recover - the more chance you'll have of achieving your goals.

THANK YOU

To everyone who came and supported me at the Beach Road Hotel Fundraiser on 27 April, thank you so much for your company, your encouragement and your huge generosity. It was great to catch up with so many friends. Your support makes a huge difference to the way I can plan my Olympic campaign. I'll be away overseas for 3.5 months leading into the Games, training full time. Every bit of money raised will make a difference.

Special thank you to MC Craig Markham, guest speaker Kenny Salisbury. As well as major prize contributor Gav Clarke from Slipstream Surfcraft. Congratulations to auction and raffle winners on your prizes. Thanks for a great night Bisho, Head, Knoxy and Johno. See you in London!
